I don't have it but it does sometimes happen with age especially if there is osteoporosis present in the spine, that along with a rounded shoulder posture and weak ligaments can lead to kyphosis (dowager hump)
I think that any condition as a result of osteoporosis etc can lead to discomfort and the rest of the back has to compensate for the bad posture caused by the rounding of the upper back.
I have noticed that some women do seem to get one of these. I think I can even see a difference in my spine at the top, but it must definitely be an age thing. I try to keep my shoulders and back as straight as I can, but age takes over .
