We are getting side-tracked here but I don't see that it matters whether it is a state or a nation.

I think the point Joe was making is that a "lefty" government, a socialist administration, is following its manifesto.

And perhaps "totally reliant on expats .... " is just a bit of a stretch ?
A million people engaged in the fishing industry ?
A massive tourist boom - which employs nobody ?

It couldn't be anything to do with the possibility this stuff might force an election in some way? Or push us into a delay on Brexit?

I agree with both you and Judd. We also know there is an illness known as 'obsessive compulsive disorder' , and we need to keep our sanity by viewing things from all angles not just focussing from one direction .
