A birthday Wish

I have just read that when blowing out candles on a birthday cake, 23% of adults wish to win the lottery.
22% wish for health and happiness, and 18% wish for children in the family to do well.

This made me wonder what our wish might be next birthday?

I will wish that the next birthday party I attend, I wish they wouldn't blow directly on the candles and cake!

I'm just wondering how they know the percentages?. Don't they realise that if you tell someone what you wished for, it doesn't come true?

I have never heard of making a wish when you blow out your birthday cake candles. Besides which, as the old saying goes, "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride".
