Do what I do. I just cut the unwanted bit off, slice it and dice it, put it in the freezer and just add it to the pot of soup when I am making it. Do it for both broccoli and cauliflower.

Actually when I first went to see him at the rescue place he was carrying a bit of cabbage around. I think I'll do some experimenting.
It all started when the vet suggested using pieces of raw carrot as treats to train my youngest dog then when I hadn't got any carrots in, I cut off the stalks of cabbage and used those and on it went. The older dog only eats them because the younger one does!
Maybe the Waitrose gods were reading this thread, but on my last shop I put thread pieces of Broccoli into a bag and self-weighed... and they came out at 9p
So I went and got another two - that'll do me for a week
