Standing Ovation At Wimbeldon.

Before the tennis on centre court yesterday it was announced that in the royal box there were invited members of the anticovid vaccine developers.Dame Sarah Gilbert looked shocked at the response of the spectators there. Some NHS members were there and they too were thanked for their hard work.
It was really an uplifting sight.

Definitely. Good for them and very good for the organisers at Wimbledon for providing the seats for the NHS staff and vaccine developers.

Yes, nice to see some genuine royalty in the royal box for a change.

It’s a pity that all healthworkers eveywhere at home and abroad who have been working under extreme pressure for so long don’t get more public recognition. They all deserve medals.

I agree and not just the health workers I would also include all those that have given their time marshalling Covid centres too.

I hope those that created the vaccination get knighthoods.

I'm so pleased they did that, they deserved to be in the best seats and the spectators did them justice.

It'd be a nice gesture if they gave a load of free tickets to NHS workers for the semis and finals.

Re: Standing Ovation At Wimbeldon.

That's indeed a nice gesture of which there should be many more. The inventors of the BioNtech/Pfizer vaccine (Comirnaty), a German couple, have meanwhile been awarded the highest order of our country. Rightly so.

For health care workers, however, there ought to be more than gestures and orders. What they would appreciate most is a decent pay because they are constantly overworked and reprehensibly underpaid.
