If you look at Yanks for example, even now at the height of difficult times they almost universally love their country.
They are extremely patriotic.
A poster in these forums I've noted is an Aussie and I can just imagine what he'd say to somebody decrying his country.
But when you speak to EUropeans (as opposed to Europeans; ie: EU citizens as opposed to those living in Europe but not EU citizens) that post in these parts of the forum there seems to be a common adoration of the EU above country.
There is no logic to it if they would take the time to closer-examine what the EU has done, but these people adore the EU.
Not Germany; not The Netherlands (as with those I have experienced here) but the EU.
So the EU's propaganda has worked.
On the gullible at least.

The haters want the rest of the UK punished for their decision while they sit sneering from the sidelines, waiting the "glorious day" to happen in the UK. Them telling everyone they voted leave then saying it will all be a disaster, we had "better watch out" somehow makes them a martyr so they can cope with their own hypocrisy.
It's quite pathetic really.

The hypocrisy of Macron knows no bounds. He (rightly) now wants Shengen rules altered and doubling of border guards because of terrorism in his country.Whilst we were members of the EU, and were complaining about being overun with illegal and legal immigrants, when we ourselves were suffering with terrorism in our own back yard, his usual strict unyielding mantra was 'Free movement is the cornerstone of the EU'.
Only now that they are having the same dreadful things happening in France has he suddenly seen the light!
