Shrove Tuesday

Does anyone still make panckes on Shrove Tuesday ?, i used to love them made by my mother with sugar and lemon.

Yes I do...... I like chopped bananas that's been soaked in brandy with a choc sauce , or warmed honey mixed with lemon juice

Sounds delicious Nobaggage - a very grown up version. i still make them for the grandchildren, but we have honey and squeezed oranges on ours.

Mmmmm .... pancakes are very moreish, a tiny bit of sugar and plenty of lemon juice for me!

Full heart attack there, but a canny way to go, as long as there is plenty of brandy over for a glass or two

Brian matey, I'm not going unless I can pickled in Brandy BEFORE I die, afterwards I consider to be a wicked waste of good brandy as I won't be able to taste it!!!

Have always made pancakes for my family. I can't eat them myself, they are on a par with porridge, sickening.

Yes I still do and with lemon (from the garden) and sugar. My kids used to invite their friends round to enloy them and see me toss them - that seems to be a dying art too.
