I don't know why people don't eat fruit, as you say it is cheap but I have read about people avoiding too much fruit because of its fructose content and preferring vegetables instead.
The bananas are just as I like them, I use them to sweeten my breakfast cereal I know all about fructose and I'll take my chances

Do I like fruit - I grow apples, pears, raspberries, blackberries, plums and gooseberries. Does that answer your question ?

Yes it sure does. Nothing like home grown produce.

I love almost every kind of fruit. My 2 year old grandson demands a banana every morning for breakfast and would rather have an apple or orange than a cookie.

I also love my fruit veg and salad, here in France they make a point of selling local produce as any thing from abroad is much more expensive. Its always really fresh and taste like fruit use to.... I buy large amounts from the markets when its the right season plus neighbours ply me with soft fruits so I freeze them (cherries apricots strawberries) then in the winter I have them with yogurt or make smoothies from them. I would say now my diet is 80 per cent fruit veg or salad 10percent cheese and 10 percent the other food groups...

I dont often eat fruit. I dont like alot of sweet things. It looks nice but I can avoid a lovely looking bowl of fruit, like I can avoid a whole shop of cream cakes and buns.
I prefer savouries.

Re: An alternative healthy option.

We adore fruit of virtually every kind, we grow as much as we can to freeze for over winter and eat it with virtually every meal including breakfast.
