Gadaffi dies...
So it's been confirmed that Gadaffi is finally dead, tracked down hiding in a drain, so much for martyrdom then..Now that he has gone it gives Lybia a chance of finding better governance, but the threat of insurgence and terrorism such as in Iraq is still very real.
May I wish the people of Lybia every success, and my sincere hopes that they find a better, more peaceful future..

I echo those sentiments plantman and I know I should feel some satisfaction that he has gone but I can only think of the cost in human lives. I do admire the people of Libya for the dignity they have shown in largely solving this problem themselves, things can only get better I hope!

We can only hope this is the beginning of a new age of democracy and peace for the people of Libya.I would have preferred that Gadaffi had been taken alive. I know all the arguments about there not having to be a trial now or a figurehead to whom his supporters could rally but I still think it is better if justice is done in accordance with international law.
