Sense of Direction?

Do you have a good sense of direction?

Some folk are able to just go somewhere (a little complicated) just ONCE - and can then find their way there again!

Also, when coming home and reaching a T-Junction without sign posts, and able to make a good guess as to whether to turn right or left towards home.

My husband says that I would get lost in an empty room!!

Re: Sense of Direction?

Absolutely none at all! It is a standing family joke here. Inside shops and exiting them, at work - a male colleage threatened to make me a head sign saying 'I am Mary and lost, please direct me back to the union office', even when told to turn left or right I have to work out which way that is.

Hello Moetmum, Just wondered if it is something that comes naturally!

Do you find that if you are a passenger in a car that you are being aware of the journey, or could be completely oblivious!

LOL Maryl, Perhaps if WE were both in that same empty room, that my husband mentions - we would hopefully find each other!!!

Re: Sense of Direction?

I have a terrible sense of direction, I get right and left muddled up too, a hopeless case!

Re: Sense of Direction?

I got lost driving locally once because roadworks were going on and I didn't understand the re-directions. I ended up in a quiet street I'd never seen before so I tearfully parked the car, caught a bus home and hubby had to go and bring the car back that evening.

Re: Sense of Direction?

qetta, it is really odd just how many of us get confused with our rights & lefts!

Maryl, How embarrassing for you. (At least you got on the bus going in the right direction for home).

Sometimes even when you ask someone for directions and you get .....

"Straight along this road, turn right at the tenth set of traffic lights, stay in the left hand lane, at the third roundabout take fourth exit, after the Esso Service Station take the very next right - continue along that road for 14½ miles and there you are". WHAT !!!!!!!

I think I must be like a homing pigeon! If I travel as a passenger which is very rarely, I probably wouldn't recognise the roads if I drove it myself.

I have quite a good grasp on the main routes in this country as I drive all over to dog shows!
