Re: Sharing Saturday

My disabled husband has just started helping out in the local Oxfam shop on Saturday afternoons. If nothing else it gives us a break from each other for a couple of hours. But at least he feels he is doing something useful, even if it isn't what he wants to do. Academia was his first love and now due to the brain damage he can't do anything of that nature anymore it really gets to him. I am not as patient as I should be sadly. But we are stuck with each other and have to make the best of it I suppose.

Re: Sharing Saturday

Good afternoon AB and everyone!

The weekend has started bright, my back is on the mend so I think I will potter around in the garden later. There is so much to tidy up at this time of the year.

I, too, hope Rosemary will pop in to say hello today .....

Have a good weekend all!

Hi, all! Sunny and still unseasonably cool, 24 C (70)-F). Been to the library to change books and just pottering. Hope it's a good day for all.

Glad the back is improving, Mags!

Re: Sharing Saturday

I`ll share my feelings today.

Jenny went back to hospital yesterday. They no longer consider her as a priority and that`s fair enough, the cancer is dealt with and she can live with a PEG.

But we want the chance for her to be able to swallow again. We are so undecided, she has had wonderful treatment and the op that could enable her to swallow again is not without a fair degree of risk.

Do we wait and see or ask if one of the specialists would refer her to another hospital??

Addenbrooke`s is superb but it seems the the Royal Marsden is better at dealing with these things

Re: Sharing Saturday

You could get a referral and discuss the second op with the specialist; then evaluate the risks..... it would be wonderful if she could swallow again. I know you'll do what's best. Thinking of you both, OG.
