Re: Whats your favourite line from a song

I heard a funny thing
somebody said to me, you know that I could be in love with almost everyone
I think that people are the greatest fun
and I will be alone again tonight my dear

Love - Alone Again Or

Hello Daiseymay,Its a Tom T Hall song mate! "We're All In This Thing Alone"

Heres the lyrics for you!

Tom T. Hall — We're All In This Thing Alone

(Hey there) you know she left me (hey there) I've been crying
In a boat on a plane in a train in a house by the phone
(Hey there) we're all in this thing alone

You can't smile for me I can't cry for you we can't be alone together that makes two
Like trees that fall in forest no one hears crying done alone don't call for tears
(Hey there) you know she left me...
[ ac.guitar ]
Ain't it strange how we think money knows when Friday comes
Calls don't know bout Sunday and our heartaches twice as done
It hurts although it's killed you thorugh and through
My eyes all red from tears aren't really blue
(Hey there) you know she left me...

I love the first line from Going North

"I want to dance a tango with chance"

Sums up life really

Thank you Bill. Strange thing though, those words do not strike a single chord (sorry for the pun) in my memory, yet that one line has stuck, odd no?

Hello daisymay, maybe a little bit odd, sometimes i get a line of a song in my head, but usually its the title or first verse,to get a few words from the middle is quite normal, all or most melodic type songs have a "middle 8 or bridge",so you have a start verse, then a verse in the middle that sort of changes the melody, sort of gets "upbeat" that is why its stuck in your head, the song is designed to be like that, songwriting is very easy, ask The Beatles?

Look on YouTube and watch him sing and play it,i gave the title and artist

Re: Whats your favourite line from a song

I like lots of lines but more verse than line?

I cant go past a verse from the Thin Lizzy song,The Boys Are Back In Town!

You know that chick that used to dance a lot?
Every night she be on the floor shakin' what She got
Man I tell ya she was cool she was red hot
I mean she was steamin'

I just love the way it flows, cool!

"...with your Johnnie Walker eyes" - Lady Gaga, you can just imagine them all droopy & bloodshot!
"Oh,Lord won't you buy me a Mercedes benz?" I think it was Janis Joplin
