Yes Spitty, on reflection if I couldn’t see a name on it it wouldn’t have been so bad.
But I suppose when you’re raised with the bare necessities of life you are never really disappointed are you? in fact the only thing you can be is optimistic, you can’t go down any lower so the only way to go is up. I admire optimistic people, they are an asset to society in times of despair and Christ knows we have more than our share of cranky old gits. I try to be as optimistic as I can, but a true optimist doesn’t know the meaning of disappointment.
I can remember one Christmas dinner, we had garden hedge soup with all the trimmings.
I never knew that about the Monkee Nesmith’s mother, good for her, a simple invention like that made her a very wealthy woman, and just compensation for having given birth to a Monkee.

I would have thought “Soldering/welding” might be up there, think of all the things that we couldn’t have without all the various metal welding processes.
In days of yore when the busses here in the city got very busy this time of year, they used to employ part time conductors, they only got the top half of the uniform, semi-conductors they were called, I’m delighted to see they are all now fully employed in computers.
