It hasn't told us how it wants to die yet, the cleaver is ready.

Re: Are you going to to have a fresh or frozen turkey ?

Hi

Christmas Eve is traditional Polish, which is carp, not cooking, going to the Littlies for it.

Christmas Day, I am doing the cooking, goose and pheasant, both fresh.

I do not like turkey breast, prefer the legs and thighs.

There is a huge surplus of them around Christmas, as cheap as chips.

I don't know what I will be having.

For the first time in many years, I have been invited out for Christmas dinner this year.
What a lovely treat.

Hi

Good for you.

Have you succumbed to the charms of one of the LTP Men?

Charms? That useless lot, Swim?

I wouldn't trust them to make me a sandwich, let alone Christmas dinner!

Re: Are you going to to have a fresh or frozen turkey ?

Never liked turkey very over rated bird, goose or duck are much tastier but I haven't had a Christmas meal like that for years.

My Christmas dinner will consist of prawns, fish, chops, steaks and snags cooked by one or more of my kids on the BBQ washed down with copious amounts of beer. The whole event will take place in the garden under a gazebo set up on the lawn.

We usually have a water fight or cricket afterwards but this year because of the drought the water fight might be out. What ever happens it is always a lot of fun.

I wasn't expecting all the kids to be there this year but my daughter broke her wrist motorbike racing in Victoria so her snowboarding trip to Japan over Christmas is off (they might go to the Olympics instead) and all the kids and grandkids will be at my place. It will be great!

Turkeys are a bit too crunchy if eaten frozen

Not good for the teeth either, could be rather a costly munch!

Re: Are you going to to have a fresh or frozen turkey ?

No idea as I am out for Christmas Day to my daughter's. If it's as usual whatever, frozen or fresh it's always a very nice Christmas dinner.

When I worked in London, the day before Christmas it was well worth a visit to Smithfield meat market. Towards the end of the day meat, including fresh turkeys, was heavily reduced, often by 50%. It took some courage though, to wait until then, the risk was to finish up without a turkey at all! That never happened to me though, fortunately!

We normally buy fresh and with the bones I will make a soup.
