No en suite here either, the bathrooms here are located just outside the bedrooms. I´ve never understood why anyone would want a bathroom/toilet in the bedroom.

Re: Property shows

I love the property programmes but do wonder who pays for the accommodation/airfare etc in some of them.

If is paid for by the TV company are some of these people just going for a subsidised holiday and not intending to buy a home at all.

Re en suite bathrooms, I don't need one at home living alone but find they are great when on holiday. They enable me to go to the loo in the night or have an early shower without disturbing the rest of the family or waking the children.

that's the trouble with empires and unions you all have to wear the same badge - for me there was and still is a distinct difference between the Scots, Welsh,Irish, English, Orkenians, Cornish etc etc - let's keep all the flavors and ditch the 'ditch water soup' of British!

Re: Property shows

I love watching a place in the sun and escape to the continent. Do they check to see if you have the money to spend before they allow you on this programme. Because if not I want to go on it.

It also annoys me when they say the kitchen is too small, cannot see enough of the sea, we want to down size, but still expect a huge property.

Or at the end of the programme the announcer will say once they returned home they decided to wait before moving as they are not sure it is the right time to move. aaahhhh wasters, annoys the ........ out of me.

My husband just laughs at me.

Re: Property shows

Always makes me smile when people say "ooh, what lovely sash windows!" My husband's terraced childhood home had sash windows and he said they're the most draughty, noisy and unreliable things ever. Funny how what was once considered awful enough to be replaced by modern alternatives are now seen as trendy. Same with comments about the "lovely high ceilings" - where all the heat gathers, away from the area you need it.

I can't see why, you still have to get out of bed wherever it is.

We used to have sash windows and had to peg them with a piece of wood to stop them rattling on windy nights

One of the properties they showed the other day had a loo behind a screen at the end of the bed and a bath stood right in the middle of the room. I thought they had put a bed in the bathroom when I first saw it.

2 bathrooms that's one each how many do they need ?

Do they deliberately seek out people who want a mansion ? surely enough people around who would be easier to please ?
I do so agree with your post, I too love watching them, but, some are so very picky. Why in heaven would a retired couple moving to the countryside need a huge house anyway. I think Location, Location is a more true to life program, at least they follow it up & find out what they do buy in the end, whatever they bought.
