George Gently

I have slowly become accustomed to the series starting with dislike and now obsession with.

I now find it to be one of the most realistic dramatizations of police work in UK but with a rather soft underbelly!

the starkness of region and working class settings for the show remind me of my own roots in the north of England.

His name is apt - he is just as likely to give gentle support as an head butt! and is always teaching his young oppo and young female trainee a thing or two. I think it also reminds me of he loyalty of the working class peoples of England, how the stick together through thick and thin

We like it but don't think they made that many - so non PC, especially the young one, Bacchus, he's lovely. A bygone era ...

I'm worried. I keep agreeing with Gummy lately.

I do enjoy Gently - and also Judge Deed.
For some reason she cannot explain, wifey hates both - with a passion !

Makes for some 'interesting' struggles for the Remote.

I too wasent sure about George Gently when it first started but had to watch it as others have mentioned it is Martin Shaw. Come on what is not to like.
