The continuing uncertainty surrounding the Brexit forces companies to follow English politics and to work out different scenarios. Experts gave their practical vision during a recent seminar in Venlo. "Expect the unexpected," former Belgian Prime Minister Herman Van Rompuy warned those present.
The fact that entrepreneurs are absolutely occupied by brexit was demonstrated by the large turnout at an early breakfast seminar organized by the Crossroads Limburg entrepreneurial institute at Rabobank in Venlo. Van Rompuy (photo), the former Prime Minister of Belgium and EU President until 2014, sketched a striking picture of the political and economic implications of the Brexit.
"Expect the unexpected," Van Rompuy warned the entrepreneurs present. "It is a tough internal political power game in the United Kingdom." The divide within the British political parties is causing unpredictable developments. "Just before the abyss with the back to the wall and with the knife on each other's throat, the UK parties will only start moving."
