There was only one person who did that here, a rather disagreable, miserable bloke who was wallpapering my kitchen.
I always thought he was doing it purely to antagonise me.
Other than him, no one else does it, and I doubt they would.

I never thought it odd,people leaving doors open,It was darn annoying though,..it wasn't just tradesmen,doctors,etc,
Some of my family used to leave doors open,my son quite often leaves my front door open,when he visits.i don't mind in summer.
When he does it in winter,i shout.
"SHUT THAT DOOR"!

Visiting kids (when I had kids) do the same but that's because they are kids and don't always thing like adults should.

For me personally,I look at it differently.
My son has a lot on his plate,in fact it has piled so high,the plate broke.
He has far more important things (on his mind) than shutting a door,...he is in the fast lane ,like I was at one time.
Just my personal take on it.
