I think he will say anything to get to be PM.
Maybe the mere threat of a no deal will galvanise the EU to offer a better deal? It would be in their interests as well as ours.

Hi

There are a number of differing views.

The decision will of course be made by the WTO.

This is a quote from them.

Although there is a clause in the rules that allows for interim agreements, WTO spokesman Keith Rockwell said it also requires the two sides to provide a plan and reasonable time-frame for their deal to take shape: a distant prospect.

“This presupposes, of course, that both the UK and the EU agree on the process of negotiating a deal, whatever form that deal may take. It would also require that both parties agree to an interim deal,” he said.

Therein lies the problem, the backstop which is the thing that prevented May's deal being passed in Parliament.

It is possibly clear to you, but perhaps not those you are addressing. The deal that is meant in the context of gatt 24 is not the withdrawal deal. The prospect meant to be attainable in the near future, is for the trade deal between UK and EU, on which negotiations start only after the UK has left. A no deal brexit means that these negotiations won't even start, let alone any propects on a gatt 24.

We shouldn't have a withdrawal treaty. We have had 3 years to sort this out, what on earth has the government been doing except plottingto dick everyone around so much that the public will give up, oh how wrong they were !

My view is we leave on October 31st and offer a Canada +++ arrangement should the EU wish to accept it. If they don't they should inform their member states we will be buying our stuff from elsewhere. In the meantime, we ignore EU rules and sign up every trade deal we can.

Besides, the Eurozone is going into recession with Draghi pumping billions more borrowed money into the economy to stop it imploding.... be interesting to see how Germany is doing at the end of this quarter - teetering on recession in March and I haven't seen car sales increase so far. No wonder Merkel has the shakes.....

Hi

Canada +++ is not on the table, it would trigger clauses in the Eu's existing Trade Deals.

It is simply not worth their while.

Secondly, who is this we?

We cannot instruct private businesses to buy from the EU, end of.

Who are we going to buy spares for BMW, Audi, Mercedes , Citroen, Peugeot from if we do not buy them from the EU.

Are you expecting ordinary people to stop using their cars?

How do we keep our HGV's on the road?

We have no significant British Manufacturers.

Not buying spares from Airbus would mean our airlines could not function.

The list is endless.

You should have voted remain.

Is the EU going to stop EU businesses selling us stuff then ?

OOOohhhh sounds like a myriad of opportunities for entrepreneurs and the like.

I really can't believe you voted Leave with all these doubts floating around your Remain Brain.

It's not us buying from them that's the problem..........we'll not stop buying shite from the EU it's the other way around.

The future is obviously a Canada +++ deal, but that is way down the line.

A new withdrawal agreement that time imits the backstop and allows a NI custom arrangement to continue until then and agrees to progress towards a future FTA and it's job done...........

Of course you can still sell weapons to saudie arabia. Of course they will keep killing women and children with them. Of course you will wash your hands in innocence. Of course you need a better government. Of course you need to better yourself.
