Well done Bazza.

I kept popping out to try and see it, but it's very cloudy here at the mo.

Re: moon partial eclipse tonight

Yes I was alerted to it on FB and had thought it looked odd when out with the dog. Didn't realise we were having an eclipse. I have a lovely view from my bedroom window but with a sodding lamp post in the car park right next to the moon, there is no point in me trying to take a photo, and I'm not going out again, no sirree!

Re: moon partial eclipse tonight

I was able to see it at 10:40, the moon is very low down in the sky tonight so not easy to see through the trees.
Last night the moon was amazing almost full with a bright pink corona.

Re: moon partial eclipse tonight

second photo was taken with this huge lump. Normally I would have it on a tripod, but time being of the essence this time it was hand held. As it weighs 7 lb it took some holding to keep steady

Is in the exif data you used a Canon EF 90-300mm f/4.5-5.6 USM, yet show a focal length of 600.mm. So by that all I can assume is you had a 2x TC attached.

Even at 600mm you would not have achieved getting that close ???, so I suspect the photo has been enlarged. Am I correct? only curious

however well done it is a great effort. it is nice to see from another member their work shown on here
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mine cropped and at 300 percent increase which is what I think you may have done, and nothing wrong in that

My exif data to save you looking it up

Strange my lens is a Tamron SP 150-600 F5-6.3 and the photos were cropped.
