Beamish museum

I'm thinking of visiting Beamish museum in early April
It looks like it should be a straightforward enough trip, but I just wondered if anyone had any advice, comments, or things I should be aware of that aren't mentioned on their website?

Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to do a lot of walking!

Arrive as early as possible as it is a wonderful place - so much to see and do and not enough hours in the day.

Allow plenty of time.
It's a brilliant place and lots to see.

I love Beamish and have been three times over the years.

Comfy shoes, lots of walking, allow an entire day at least there is so much to see. We've been twice and I still think we could go again and see things we've missed.

They are always adding things, a cracking day out but be prepared to walk a lot, and take plenty photos.

Don't go in the school holidays!

Even then, you can't win: school parties.

Re: Beamish museum

That's more or less what I thought

I plan to go mid-week and stay at a B&B the nights before & after so I can spend a full day there

I've been to Blists Hill in Shropshire and The Black Country Museum. I'm expecting Beamish to be similar but bigger

It`s on my bucket list but it`s a long way away. Get Puglia out of the way and next spring I intend to take a coach holiday-2 nights and a full day at Beamish. The other two places you mention are great.

Yes, it is a long way.

These might also interest you.
Although you would still have to carry on to Beamish, you would be more or less passing them anyway, as they are just east of York; plus there are the museums in York itself of course
