Spot on.

All EU trade deals are designed to benefit and protect French farmers and German manufacturers. UK interests are way down the pecking order.

Just like the CAP is designed to keep old, fat, useless French farmers driving around in brand new tractors producing food so expensive that it has to be subsidised by the UK taxpayer to make it affordable.

Just like the EU fisheries Policy allows other EU nations , such as Denmark and The Netherlands, to plunder UK fishing grounds.

The UK has been subsidising Europe for far too long.

Time for a new relationship and a new understanding with our near neighbours............one, incidentally, that wil benefit both .

Exactly. If there is any doubt in anyone's mind that the EU haven't been taking us to the cleaners for all these years, here is the evidence.

The sooner we are out, the better.

JBR,you ought to take a leisurely stroll through the southern part of Italy...the part most holidaymakers and tourists don't see...and look at the row-after-row of derelict factories, workshops and warehouses-all kaput, since Italy joined. This isn't just fanciful-it's the next bone of contention and the reason for the turmoil in Italy's government atm.

My bank mailed their update on brexit so far. Thanks brexit voters.

To summarize: it does not roll that bad

Until now, the Brexit does indeed hurt the British economically and Dutch exporters also notice something about it. Goods exports were 5 percent lower in the first four months of this year than in the same period in 2016, before the Brexit referendum. Under a lot of political turmoil, the British move in a direction that would suit the Netherlands: a super-soft Brexit, which may very much resemble an EU membership without any control. But before we get there we will probably see a lot of 'no-deal' threats and a longer transition period.

To think that british productivity is even less than the italian (at least, in the last decades). Thank god that derelict factories and warehouses in england are called cultural heritage. Restored with substantial grants from the EU.
