I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but it's the ingrained very strong smell of Chinese cooking from my neighbours house. It doesn't smell like good Chinese food, more like a rotting fish or cabbage smell.There are just the two houses in my stair and you notice the smell as soon as you enter the stair. I honestly don't know how they can live with that smell as it must be deep into their clothes and furnishings, too. I can smell it strongest in my kitchen which is the opposite side of theirs; but I smell it everywhere in my house, even my bedroom and this annoys me no end. I did write them a polite letter two weeks ago and the smell seemed to relent for a few days but now is stronger than everywhere.
I don't get it: when I cook my tea, I can obviously smell it cooking and afterwards, once I've done the dishes it may linger for an hour or so depending on what I'm cooking but it always goes away.
This smell is permanent and is like a form of pollution.
