WE were made to when we were all growing up. Coming from the Islands, religion played a big part in the lives of the people who lived there. Sundays were pure torment for me, Church, Sunday School followed by Bible Class, for the older ones, we also had to observe "The Sabbath", I hated Sundays.
I'm pretty sure that's why I have nothing to do with any of it now.

If you add together the first 216 digits of pi, you get 666. And, as luck would have it 6 x 6 x 6 = 216

If you use the code A=100, B=101, C=102...etc and add together the letters of the word HITLER, you get 666.

This is a bit more difficult, but if you jumble up the digits of 216, you get 126

126 + 666 = 892

Which is the total for FRED WEST

Not all that flukey, Dex. The outcome of any formula tends to come as far less of a surprise when you've already decided on the result beforehand.

Thing is that so often things are lost in the translation. In the case of corn in the Torah scroll the words used relate to grains with a hard form. It is the KJV version that "corn" was used to represent grains in general and it was used in the USA to apply to maize and not the other way around. FWIW the KJV is viewed as the best and most accurate translation of the New Covenant there is by biblical scholars and theologists.

Seems odd to me that so many people are completely unable to stick with a thread not go wandering off in some totally unrelated topic. Is it that difficult to hold a specific thought in your head for longer than a minute or so ?

As a reminder, the thread here happens to be corn, not just in the bible but in dozens of novels about ancient times.

I am currently re-reading River God, a story that takes place in ancient Egypt. The author, Wibur Smith makes a dozen or more references to corn growing in the fields or freshly ground corn flour.

Obviously, since corn was unknown in the Middle East/Europe until Columbus' time, that would be impossible.

People, let's try to keep our eye on the ball, shall we ? If we are engaged in a person to person conversation with a friend and our friend is talking about marriage problems and you suddenly start talking about auto mechanics, your friend would think you're nuts.
