Re: Olive oil

It's the only oil we use in cooking and salad dressings, and we also use it to make our own spreadable butter so we get through around a litre a month I guess..

Re: Olive oil

I can remember nursing a bottle of special virgin olive oil all the way back from Italy along with some lovely cheese, only to see them on sale in Tesco's.

Re: Olive oil

I use olive oil for all Italian cooking, and cleaning my ears once a month.

Re: Olive oil

The extra virgin organic stuff. It's always used for frying anything.

Also good for making a really good cough mixture. One part olive oil, one part honey and a squeeze of however many lemons you want gently heated on a stove for a couple of mins. It's the olive oil that's the magic ingredient. It has great healing properties. Apparently you can put it on a bite or burn too.

I have never thought of doing that. Thanks for the tip Missy and LD - will have to try! Although I prefer the taste of Grand Padano grated to parmesan. I think Sainsburys do this and a bag of it may be slightly cheaper.

Re: Olive oil

With little finger I put a small amount of olive oil above and below eyes to stop itchy/dry eyes.
