Children's Christmas Presents

On Christmas Day, I watched two year old girl and 4 year old boy receive even more Christmas presents from Grandparents and relations on Christmas morning.
The Lounge floor was soon strewn with many plastic toys games and Sweets and Chocolate on the table.
They simply did not know which toy or game to play with first.

Previously hand- made gifts were acceptable , not so now.
Many of these plastic toys will soon break and be binned, and parents admit they spoil their children and buy them far too much at Christmas .

Young Children are not taught to appreciate quality.
In years gone by gifts were beautifully made many of natural material and wood.

At Christmas children usually received one or two nice gifts plus an Orange and sweets. These gifts were treasured by children and lovingly looked after and lasted for years, and then handed down to their own children.
As Children got older, parents saved up for a new Bike or renovated used one,and these were also kept in good condition and handed down, or sold later.

It is true that some parents can’t afford Christmas presents, yet happily get in debt to buy them and It takes a year to pay for them on credit.

Sadly young children do not understand that Daddy and Mummy can’t afford too many presents especially when they see all the expensive presents that some of their friends get.

You can join a Christmas club early in the year and pay a fixed some each week/month which does help with all the expense at Christmas.

If it takes them a year to pay for them a) what the heck have they bought them and b) they want their heads seeing too.

Muddy

They buy them on credit through the many Catalogues available.
It is even more expensive now as most children over five years get a Tablet or Mobile Phone.

The age of innocent does not last long these days.

Parents spoil children which in turn makes the children greedier and wanting more. They seem to have no concept of money. It is the fault of the parents.

If you can’t afford it don’t buy it .
There are many gifts that are not tablets or phones .
No child has died from not having either indeed would better off
without them .
Get em a book .
