Sir John Redwoods Reaction Yesterday to No Deal

Here is Sir John Redwoods reaction to the news yesterday that Boris has withdrawn from negotiations with the EU in favor of us leaving with no deal.

This was recorded before Boris and Frost cancelled next weeks negotiations.

Absolutely Brilliant.

How did our neighbours (Wokingham), who are only a mile up the road, get John Redwood when we managed to get Fullup Lee?

There's no justice in this world.

Redwood and Bill Cash have been Brexit Superstars.

I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a cabinet reshuffle in the coming weeks.

Sir Ian Duncan Smith ... your country needs you on the front bench !

It cannot be made any clearer.

Who knows what will happen on Monday? As was said in the interview UK needs to be wary, on our guard.

All this will not matter, but it will not register, because Brexit isn't an evidence based movement. Like religions, the greater the evidence to the contrary, the more hardline believers' stance becomes.

There are common traits. When evidence doesn't support belief, they attack those presenting the evidence. When that evidence becomes overwhelming, it's decried as conspiracy and naysaying.

There's another common trait - over time, beliefs and demands lean further toward the extreme. It didn't take long for "the easiest trade deal in history," and "all the benefits of membership without the costs" to morph into "the only true Brexit is no deal."

Agreed completely.

Isn't it strange how desperate certain Europhiles are in their persistant belief that the UK is wrong, despite so much evidence to the contrary?

You just watch the next few weeks, Zaphod (great name by the way).

The US elections and Brexit are very much inter-linked. Where Trump is draining the swamp in the US, we are doing much the same here with the civil service and the EU.

Agreed and it has been much-needed for many years in both instances.

Brexit is the best opportunity that this country has had in modern times for a hard "reset" - at an ideal time too, even disregarding any consequences of Covid.
China is increasingly showing its' hand; we're at the dawn of another industrial revolution with reducing reliance on fossil fuels; climate change and more (we're growing previously-unheard-of-in-the-country crops and grape varieties now for example).

I'm not saying Boris will make the most of the opportunity; frankly I don't know (who does?)
BUT we have the opportunity.
If we now do not make the most of it, we only have ourselves to blame.
Within the EU we would not even have the opportunity.
