Italexit

Things are stirring in Italy as demands are increasing for Italy to leave the EU especially after the country's treatment during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Italian politician Gianluigi Paragone is going to launch a new `No Europe for Italy` campaign this Thursday 23rd. Could be the next stage of the collapse of the EU.

Re: Italexit

It's been murmered for quite a while. I think the difficulty was, knowing which would be the first to follow the leader after Brexit. Hungary is also another contender, I think they've seen the daylight, but they'd better be quick before things are changed to NoExit. It is in the pipeline !

He will have a difficult time convincing the people to invoke article 50. Italy just got £ 209 bn from the EU (81 bn in grants, 127 bn in loans). When they leave they'll get nothing. Not a hard choice.

Orban just got off the hook for breaking down democratic reforms in his country. He will keep the loans from the EU. Orban now loves the EU.

He will.
At Rutte's insistence, it has been included that financial aid can be stopped if the recipient countries do not implement sufficient "reforms", such as making the labor market more flexible. Countries in distress must also first present plans for the "reforms" of their social policies or they will not even be eligible for aid.

On Tuesday morning after the agreement was presented, Prime Minister Mark Rutte stressed the importance of this method, which would allow Member States to "keep their finger on the pulse." He contradicted that this gives member states far-reaching control over each other's social policies, and emphasized that the 'emergency brake' will only be used in extreme cases. "It also helps the Commission to put extra pressure. The emergency brake is actually there to not be used. ” In the passage about a so-called "rule of law test", which allows the Commission to cut Member States that undermine the rule of law on EU funds, the night from Monday to Tuesday was still considerably pruned. Under pressure from Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in particular, the text has been weakened, although it has still been agreed that the Commission will come forward with proposals to make the rule of law part of the evaluation. Prime Minister Rutte denied that the mechanism has weakened and spoke of a “more sober wording”.

Well, article 50 was introduced explicitly to create the possibility to leave quickly. I don't know if the british 4 years is quick...
No exit can be realised if europarliament votes for it.

It takes you to not understand. It is europarliament that has to agree, not the commission.
