Call blocking devices or Phones

I'm getting sick of these nuisance calls - got one this morning at 9:00 ... Grrrrrrr I would have these scum publicly executed.

However since I can't, I'm looking at either a call blocking device or a phone. Blocking international calls and ones made by 'robots', should reduce the problem. I can't really block witheld numbers as some of them are legitimate.

Anyone have one of these gadgets? Any advice, recommendations etc...

Yes, GW, I bought the call blocker (cost £40) some weeks ago as I was sick and tired of them.

It comes pre programmed with 200 known spam numbers and the accompanying booklet gives instructions what to do with others.

There is a button on the device to press when the call is answered, and it'll block that number.

I've used it numerous times. When I scroll down my Calls list I can see loads of numbers that may or not have been let through, proof that I get too many of these!

You can stop the Withheld numbers but you'd need to contact all the organisations that have your number to press something (?1470, or something like that) in front of your telephone number, to bypass the block.

I need to confirm that code.

We get lots of nuisance calls but so far not on a Sunday. We don't have a call blocker but do have caller display so if we don't recognise the number we don't answer the phone. Anything urgent they will leave a message.

We paid a little under £40 for a BT one it's great, has an answer phone attached too so we can screen calls and block them if they are not people we want to speak to.

I have had a CPR call blocker for a long time now, you need to have caller display to use it, but is is brilliant.
I haven't blocked withheld numbers because some of them are genuine calls from an extension at the dentists or doctors etc.

We have blocked with held, if they genuinely need to speak to us they can do so by phone with a normal number, email or letter. No excuse for using a with held number IMO

I may be wrong, but I think all calls from an extension are classed as withheld without the user actually withholding them.

If that's the case they need to sort it out or send a letter to us. My life feels like my own again since I haven't been dealing with callers who are selling stuff or scamming me.

I have a call blocker but it for some unknown reason cannot stop the computer generated calls.

You should be able to block them if the number shows on caller display.
