If they do, I think they'd make an excellent replacement for Hilda and Stan Ogden: the humorous couple of The Street.

Not done off camera, they so liked the piccies they were taking of pretend wedding, etc. that Mary went down on one knee to propose and was accepted. As you say, brilliant comic duo

Getting fed up with Gemma now. She was a novelty in the beginning but it's when she talks with her mouthful that I want to switch off.
