Re: At last, a happy ending

The reason I bought the laptop from Amazon UK is because I wanted the running programme in English, technical Spanish and myself do not always understand each other. The other reason is because it was cheaper in UK, not everything is cheaper in Spain, also I have never had such a problem before.

I've never had a problem emailing companies in the UK before, often never got anything other than the standard "your mail has been received" reply though.

We do have Amazon in Spain, we also have Argos, but again items such as computers would have the running programmes in Spanish, which is okay for most things but some things I need to be in English, my Spanish is passable but doesn't extend to technical matters. At the present time I see no reason for having VPN service, there is nothing on my computers that anyone could make use of, anything I buy using Barclaycard is secure and also insured, I don't use internet banking and until this particular episode I have not had any problems.

I think you misunderstand the use of VPN in this circumstance. Nothing to do with security but to do with location so you could fill out HP's complaint form (or whatever it was)
