Swim was right. Put them in the champagne and a little (just a little) sugar sprinkled then leave them in a warm place. On top of the boiler ?

I have a better idea, just drink the champagne don't spoil it with rotten strawberries

Even if it were . . . .

Do we really need to support the transportation of them half way across the world?

Does this follow the cycle of Nature?

If Nature doesn't allow for strawberries to grow here at certain times then why go against her?

How much energy is expended to get those strawberries from a local Egyptian farm, to a warehouse, to freeze them, get them driven to a seaport, loaded onto a ship, for that ship to stream its way to some other port, to offload them, get them transported to a central supermarket warehouse, then get them distributed out to all the national supermarkets?

It's sheer lunacy !

And if they are not frozen somewhere along that process then really how fresh do you expect them to be?

I just don't understand the mindset.

If all that weren't enough, worth noting that Egyptian Strawberries were thought to be the source of a Hepatitis outbreak in the USA recently.

Crumple up a sweet meringue and slice the strawberries and add some honey and mix together.
Add ice cream as well if you like it
