As a solution to the backdrop impasse Boris is looking into building a 25 mile long bridge linking NI with the mainland. This will cost at least £15bn.
I heard that there is an arms dump in that particular section of the Irish sea where a great deal of ex-war ordnance was discarded. Could cause problems.
Probably illegal immigrants will be the main users.

You can have little island in the middle where check of persons and goods are performed. That's no border, that's bridging the gap.

But isn't a bridge a border anyway? You still get a point at either end of it for checks. Same as a wall, or a pond.
