Changing a disability bathroom.

We had a grant towards a disability bathroom for Tony but I didn't like it much when it was finished - see top 2 pictures.

After a year the council no longer take an interest in it & I am able to change it to my own liking. I had the gates & shower curtains & track removed yesterday & replaced with a glass panel. I really like it now - The panel was £200 from Victoria plumbing. My son in law fixed it in for me.

Just thought I'd like to show it to you.

What an improvement, Carol - and will be much easier to clean too, I would imagine.

That looks very smart. We had our bathroom converted to a wet-room for disability reasons.

Much nicer Carol.

Is it self-cleaning glass on the inside? A good way to keep the glass stain-free is to use a squeegee on it after every shower. It really does keep the water marks away.

Yes, yes, it's a much more attractive and practical improvement.

The other is a bit of a head scratcher for me. It looks like something that someone could easily fall over and cause injury.

Well done to your SIL!

Re: Changing a disability bathroom.

I guess that the low level door is designed with wheelchairs in mind - less likely to have an accident involving a large sheet of glass. Also allows helpers to be able to lean out to reach for things, or to lean in so they don't have to stand in the wet area. My sister has the same thing as her MS means she is unable to stand at all.

She also has one of those fancy toilets which has a warm water douche incorporated.

Having said that, yours looks good.
