Is Paranoia rife on this site?
So many members seem to be very apprehensive about modern technology. Whether it's Smart Meters, Smart Phones, Amazon Echo, in fact almost anything that we don't fully understand but our Grandkids are completely happy and familiar with. Is it all part of the ageing process?

HiPeople worry about new things.
Natural caution, which is a good thing.
To reject them all would mean the Human Race would never progress.
The problem is that we are being forced to accept things by big business.
Bank Closures are one big thing, forcing us online.
Online we can be hacked.
Going into my local branch, where they knew me by sight, with a cheque to withdraw some cash was much safer.

When someone stood at Hyde Park Corner with sandwich boards hailing the end of the world we all thought they were cranks....
But now because these same people are using modern technology and putting it out on the news and internet we believe it without even challenging it.....
There's bugger all we can do about it even if it's right....
