Nice posts in here, thanks It seems most people live away from the centre of a town. Is that what happens when retirement approaches I wonder?
We live right in it Floydy. Mrs LD doesn't drive so if I was ever incapacitated, she would still be able to shop easily. Personally, I would rather live on the Moors.

Nice, welcoming pub on the Moors mate - The Slaughtered Lamb. They do a lovely medium-rare shoulder of mutton marinated in zombie blood

Sounds deliciously appetising. But we'll stick with the Cuban pulled pork for dinner tonight.....

Re: Shops where you live

I live in suburbia
I have to walk into town (about a mile) to get to shops and all the big supermarkets are the opposite end of town.
If I have lots to buy I take the car

Depending on which way I walk in to town the first premises I pass are a hairdresser's or a chippy!

Re: Shops where you live

I am 2 miles from the nearest small shop, about 3 to a small town . There is no public transport here so a car is necessary, it is a bit far to walk carrying shopping though I have done so in deep snow.

It isn't a problem not having a shop nearby, I shop twice a week .
I prefer being surrounded by sheep rather than humans.
