Boris rejects EU proposals !!

Boris has rejected the fresh proposals from the EU concerning the
NI border agreement, saying they don't go far enough and will need
continuing alterations in future ?
He goes further and insists the agreement needs renegotiating
and he backs Lord Frost to do this !!
Imo, this could lead to the whole brexit deal as negotiated by Boris
being invalidated?? 😀😀
As l have said many times before, Brexit ain't over yet !!

Re: Boris rejects EU proposals !!

Step by step, day by day, the EU's intransigence will result in Frostie pressing the button on Article 16. And, IMHO, this will be a GOOD thing.

Yes l agree Percy !!
If Boris had done his job when he was in one on one negotiation
with Barmier none of this would be necessary ??
However,we are are where we are !!

Very easy to say, but without a full transcript of the proceedings, none of us know what was said and why. Hindsight is a marvellous thing as Boris keeps reminding Max Headroom, aka Starmer!

Exactly this; the EU's intransigence will probably make it inevitable.

Oh and BTW: were it not for Boris and Frost we would not have that option.
The detractors should remember that fact when grumbling about these (and our parliament) agreeing the deal after they had been left a real mess to contend with.
Otherwise we would either have had to leave with no deal, or we would still (knowing the EU's glacial slowness) still be "negotiating".

Whichever any of us might have preferred doesn't matter now because we are where we are.

But we ARE still negotiating Zaphod !!
And it is still possible for "no deal" ( hopefully!)

No deal is still the best option in my opinion

Can't help wondering if the recent visits, by Biden, might have changed the EU stance on Northern Ireland.

Just a thought!

Yes we are, just as we and every other nation are continually negotiating many things - as with the WTO; the UN; Nato; etc. etc. etc.
Even if we had never joined the then EEC we would still be negotiating something with the EU, because we trade with them.
Agreements of all types - whether it's like ours with the EU or an employment contract - change all the time due to various circumstances.

I don't see a "no deal" happening because I don't think that even the EU are stupid enough to push that hard, although anything is possible I suppose.
But I can see that it will perhaps take our invoking Article 16 before the EU understand that their intransigence is counterproductive.
