Safe Liberal Seat in Danger on Preferences

When we got our 6th Prime Minister in 5 years after the Liberal right had spent years undermining "leftie" Malcolm Turnbill eventually forcing a spill.

Unfortunately for them their preferred Prime Minister Mr Potato Head Dutton failed to win and ScoMo, Scott Morrison, became Prime Minister.

Turnbull resigned from Parliament forcing a by election in his safe Liberal seat (17% Majority).

Things have gone awry!

It looks like an Independent could possibly win the seat on preferences. Well known candidate ex AMA President Kerryn Phelps has overtaken Labor in the opinion polls and is in second place.

Labor's preferences will flow to her which could be enough to push her over the line. It will be an interesting vote next Saturday - as long as she gets more first preferences than Labor she could be elected as the new member.

Kerryn Phelps has promised to vote with the government to guarantee supply (funding) but the government will have lost its one seat majority in the lower house.

It is a kick in the guts to the right wing of the Liberal Party who have acted like spoilt children. The Liberals have hit the panic button.

Its good to shake things up, poloticians take the electorate for granted.

Something or lot should be aware of with the current shenanigans.
