Re: Cheddar Gorge

We went to Cheddar Gorge many years ago when our children were young, it was quite impressive.

Re: Cheddar Gorge

The Gorge was closed at 3pm today because of "nuisance vehicle use", a huge car club meet-up. Young people with suped-up cars I expect, again.

I used to visit Cheddar Gorge many years' ago and would never have expected this kind of behaviour to happen there, how thing change over the years and for the worse:

I feel sorry for the owners of little shops and cafés, it's putting people off just as they've started opening.
Don't get me started on the noise! It reverberates around the rocks, some days it's like living next to Brands Hatch, sometimes like The Isle of man TT races when the bikers are roaring up and down.

They need to sort out somewhere for them to go, some work hard making their cars look fantastic and want to show them off, they need some sort of track or showground to gather in.
Luckily it doesn't happen very often and I prefer it to the illegal raves that are held on top the Gorge, they go on until morning.
