A little project.

A clean up and refurb of a Primus blowlamp. I tend to use my propane torch for jobs in my workshop so this will hang from the ceiling in there but it was saved from the tip , given to me by a customer whom I wired in a garage light for her.

Well , I messed up the picture but its here ; sideways : )

Nice piece of kit which one day might be 'antique value' so I would hang on to it as well. I also use my 'Propane' torch for most jobs now but when you need a bit of extra heat the blow torch might come in useful.

Yes, it will stay hanging up Losos. It very nearly went into metal waste ; my friend was binning stuff in order to rent the house when I visited to do a bit of electrical work.

My dad used one too, you had to warm it up with methylated spirit first then pump light hell to get the paraffin to vaporise, but then when lit there was no control over the flame.... thank goodness for modern propane torches eh....

Yes , warm it up by lighting the puddle of fuel on top Barry.

I have some more old brass lamps , hurricane lamps to refurb Longdogs , just keeps me busy in the happy place shed.

Yes I love 'doing things' in my shed. It's so theraputic, I think how much I'm saving by repairing or modifying things, listen to Classic FM, and I can even make myself a cup of tea if I want.

Best of all it gets out from under OH's gaze so I don't get tasked with doing the dishes or hoovering the lounge carpet.
