Rant alert.... BBC equal pay
I see that Samira Ahmed has won an equal pay tribunal today, complaining that whilst Jeremy Vine got £3000 and episode for Points Of View, she only got £440 for a weekly news program. She argued that was underpaid then, apparently by £ 700,000, over a period of 10 years.
Now, whilst I agree that is a huge disparity, I would argue that it not Ahmed that was underpaid but Vine that is vastly overpaid. I mean, what planet are these people on that think they deserve three grand for presenting a fifteen minute programme, and indeed what planet are the people on that sanction that kind of money?
And they say they cannot afford free licences for the over 75s, I wonder why that is then...
