Criteria to get access to PMs and Members-only section
As per my last announcement, we added some restrictions on PMs and the Members Only section - where people now have to be registered a few months and have made at least 50 posts.We did this as there were some concerns about the privacy of threads in the Members Only section, and because as we get more popular we're at an increased risk of spammers (where, often, when they are reported, and then banned, they just sign up a new account and carry on!
)Hence the restrictions were brought in to counter that, and I guess in some way reward members who take the time to take part here.
All members get access to profile messages though.
So... what do you think the criteria should be? Please vote in the poll to let us know

I don’t mind the 50 post count but three months to members only seems a bit long to me. I would have run out of small talk long before that.

50 posts is only just over 4 posts PER WEEK, and a lot of members do more than that in A DAY, so IMO 50 should not be difficult for anyone who really wants to become a member.Is it 50 posts + 3 months Azz or 50 posts OR 3 months, whichever comes first?

I voted leave as it is, all you are trying to do is protect existing members and once the new members have full access they may just appreciate your diligence. It really is a bit unnerving when a new member doesn't post but starts off by pming asking for dates and more. I don't want that from my friends here so certainly can live without it from people I don't know. Genuine new members will soon make the 50 posts and 3 months isn't that long in the scheme of things. I think Azz pitched it about right.|
