Language is a living thing. It changes with time, with evolving society, and contact with people who use different languages and forms of grammar.

For example what were once taught as strict rules of grammar such as not to start a sentence with a conjunction, a thing that I would never have done, are now perfectly acceptable and in some cases even in formal writing.
