Grey Hair

Why are we all [ or most ] afraid of going grey ? Adverts are full of things to do to ' hide 'grey hair, but this is not stopping the aging of your body, signs of ' old' age will show in other ways, and often colouring the hair on an older person looks silly. I saw Cliff Richards the other day, his face is lined, yet he colours his hair, pretending its still the original colour. Grey hair looks distinguished on men and women, so why hide it ?

Re: Grey Hair

I am 70 and have just a mallon streak of white hair at my right temple...........I cannot see the need to disguise it, my hair otherwise is almost black like my father's was before he died with only white hairs on his neck at 50. My daughter however, started to go grey in her 20's so there is no telling. I shall let nature have her way!

I am not I have had silver grey hair for about 25 years.

I dislike most dyed hair, I think it looks harsh and 'flat'. Natural hair is a mixture of tones so unless you can afford a hairdressers price for regular highlights it is difficult to get a natural look.
I prefer to see natural hair whatever the colour kept in good condition so it shines and reflects the light

Re: Grey Hair

My hair has largely retained its dark brown colour, but my beard is almost white. However, since I seem to be rapidly losing what hair I still have, its colour hardly matters.

Re: Grey Hair

I think that is generally accepted that men's beard hair goes grey/white before their head hair, accept it and enjoy it for it is a sign of maturity!

Re: Grey Hair

Recently started going a bit grey in patches, really looking forward to it all going grey as the difference thickness of the hair and textures is harder to work with than if it were all one or the other I think.
Only times I have dyed my hair is to go completely different colours like blue or green or pink, and haven't done that in many years.

Re: Grey Hair

Very true I am hoping mine might make me look like a lady I see at the bus stop - probably won't as she is stunningly beautiful anyway and me not so much

Re: Grey Hair

I turned grey and age ago, and am now a sort of silvery white, and quite happy with it. I never had the urge to die my hair,
