Re: Washing machine troubles .....

Are you able to manually turn the machine off, pause the cycle or go to stand-by? If you can, it might be worth setting the programmer to a rinse position and then starting the machine. As you know, the machine will pump out water between rinses.

If this works, stop the machine by switching it off when the water has been drained and before fresh water starts flowing in. Then undo the filter to see if the fault really is that the filter is blocked.

It's all a little hit and miss because if the filter is really blocked it won't pump out anyway. On the other hand perhaps the electronics of the machine just thinks it is because of what's happened.

If it isn't blocked, then maybe the off-balance load shaking the machine about could have made the belt that drives the pump drop off or something. Can you hear it trying to pump?

If the above works in getting the water to pump out, at least you'll avoid the flood.

Well done on solving your problem. If I was you I wouldnt put a heavy rug in it again
I once did the same thing and what I found helped was when the machine is empty just push the barrel upwards as I think if they have gone off balance they need putting back into place again.

A good idea! You must be a fit person. Washing machines are heavy to move about even when empty. Well done for sorting it out.

You have a blockage just after the brush in the head of the cleaner.
