Re: what's your favourite tipple, and has it changed over the years

I've been trying whiskies for years now, specifically single malts.
I've tried Jameson's (Irish) whiskey, which I found nicer than Scotch blends, but I've now settled for Laphroaig single malt whisky.

I've never really seen anything in the American versions.

Having said that, before I got into whiskies I used to drink rum and recently I have decided to go back to that again. Dark rum, of course. I don't particularly like white rum.

Any dark rum will do, but not too keen on spiced rum. I'm currently drinking Lamb's Navy Rum, and so is Marge, but with coke.

I like Strong Lager, well, it was good enough for Winston Churchill , so its good enough for me, in fact, I'd go as far as to say "Its probably the best Tipple in the world".

I swap and change....I'll try anything but I'm onto ice cold prosecco right now. Aperol cocktail is nice...very refreshing as is pink gin with lots of ice and frozen cherries.

My tipple? Water or a soft drink as I am teetotal and have been since a late-teenager. Consuming alcohol was not conducive to avoiding falling off motorcycles so was avoided at all costs!

Stopped drinking in Jan 2016.

1. Sleep better
2. Weigh less
3. Feel less sluggish after a few the night before
4. More money in pocket.

It's a no-brainer.

I love a glass of merlot when I'm cooking dinner and a top up during dinner . I have cut down the intake though .

A treat would be drambui with ice . I dare not buy a bottle as it will be gone in a week .

We've cut right back on our drinking although we still enjoy a bottle of Zinfandel Rosé occasionally.

If in the mood I'll have a ˝ of Banks's Bitter, Amber Ale, or Mild Ale and I really do like a double shot of Jake's Gin on a Sunday evening.
