No Matter What Happens, Austerity Only Belongs to the People

Austerity.....

Funny how the EU refuses to cut it's own operating costs to help the member states through the covid crisis, and to help those such as Spain and Italy get back on their feet.

Of course, that would be a step too far for the Brussels gravy train because if they did cut back on the chauffeur driven Mercedes, the €660 per child monthly bonus, the tax free salaries, the tax free shopping, tuition free "European Schools" etc etc etc it would mean MEP's who are only in this for the money (which let's face it is most of them) could then turn towards Euroscepticism (as revenge for their loss in entitlements) and blow up the the house of cards from the inside. Then, of course are the 100,000+ European Union employees who work as quangos in dysfunctional quasi-governmental EU organisations, BS Institutions and bogus companies, all raking it in from forced payments from the member states. No questions asked, nobody accountable for anything, just turn up, clock in, clock out and take the cash.

No cut backs here ....

Nope, much better to inflict austerity on the member states instead (as it has been doing since 2010 I might add) to keep the people firmly in their place while the operating costs go up and up, the salaries go up, benefits become more extravagant and so do all those expenses that receipts are not required for. The Brussels elite continue to enjoy the trappings of the Bourgoise and kick the can down the road where future generations in the 27 will have to pay for the mess. Of course ... the Elite will blame Covid019.... but will they be believed while the rest of the world has moved on, sorted themselves out, paid back their borrowing and rebuilt their economies ?

I doubt it.

And while the EU mutualises debt of around 750 billion, increases the payments from the net contributors to 1.2 Trillion Euros, behind their backs the commission issues a 30% hike in payments to "developing countries" - free money to other countries who like them are run by a mafia mob, dictators and unelected communists.

So happy we left ...

So am I Bread, so am I.

I could weep for the citizens of Europe who have had no say in what has and is still happening to their beloved countries.
The EU has morphed into a monster, run by the elites. solely for the elites.
I have watched to what has been happening over the decades with their aim of total domination. the EUSSR.

One example - notice how citizens from every single member state are told to refer to themselves?, no longer by their origin of country nationality, but as EUROPEAN. And how proudly those now entrenched ''Europeans'' wear that badge with pride. (If only they knew!)

This has all been carefully planned for years....There is nothing anyone can do except what we in the UK have done, GET OUT NOW BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!

Aren't the british champions of austerity for decades? (As long as tory rule).

Why did England have Europe's worst Covid figures? The answer starts with austerity https://www.theguardian.com/commenti...ity-inequality

Austerity has nothing to do with the Covid death figures.
And you will get no bigger critic of the Government's handling of covid than the British public ourselves.
The reason the figures are the highest is because, like Sweden, when the pandemic first broke out, the Government were advised to take the route of HERD. (Let the fittest catch it, recover and move on with antibodies) while the weakest (pensioners) would unfortunately be thrown to the wolves.
Why do you think no flights into the UK were stopped long after every other country had stopped travel?
It was only when the true horrendous figures of how many of us were likely to die that the Government bricked themselves and changed tactics pretty damn quick by fighting the pandemic.

So, criticise all you want about covid figures. You'll get no argument from me.

Hi

Our Politicians have not had Austerity for themselves, still had pay rises, pensions and subsidised food and drink.

As Shroppy says, we are well capable of criticising our own MPs.

In fact it is our national hobby.

We have the highest RECORDED figures - there are a lot of discussions going on about the accuracy of those figures.

Just remember as well, no country in the EU is out performing the UK on testing, considering the UK had to build a vaccines and diagnostics industry from the ground up in a matter of months.

There are a lot of lies about figures in Europe too - it will all come out in the wash eventually, don't worry.

Our recorded figures are bovine droppings central if you ask me. They include people that have died from non-Covid reasons up to 6 months after they have tested positive for Covid19.

Exactly, Percy. They also include people who have recovered from Covid, then died of something else, like being hit by a bus.

Then there are the care home figures where just about all residents who died since records began had covid as a symptom on their death certificates even if it wasn't present in the care home at all.

I agree ... lots of BS with these so called "Records"

In effect both of you are saying the UK makes a total balls up of their registration of causes of death. Is there nothing you're capable of doing correctly? What a country!
