Guilty as charged

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-16069397

I do not feel sorry for her or any of the other people involved.

Had someone broke into her home, stole her belongings and was jailed for it would she say the sentence is to hard?

Re: Guilty as charged

I don't feel sorry for her either, she knew what she was doing, she knew it was wrong, she stole something.

It's no good talking all sweet and innocent when she has been caught, she must accept the punishment .... that's the only way these rioters will learn.

Re: Guilty as charged

Fine with me. She's now learned there are harsh consequences for rioting and theft, and may that be a lesson and deterrent to others.

Note that in Canada she would only serve about 1/3 of the sentence, not the full 10 months.

Re: Guilty as charged

A good dose of the Cat o' nine tails or the Birch would have prevented her from being incarcerated, thereby saving money and teaching her a lesson that if applied correctly she would not forget.

Public flogging is not allowed -shame as thousands would flock to watch and at £10 a ticket could raise revenue

Re: Guilty as charged

''I went in there to be nosy not to steal ''

If you saw people breaking in to a shop the natural reaction for most people would surely be to distance themselves from the premises while alerting the police.

The fact that the girl emerged from the shop with trainers in her hands is testimony to the fact she intended to do more than just 'be nosy'.

Clearly she isn't that bright because she took two left foot trainers instead of a pair so had to throw them away
