I believe it does come as shingles Mups, but our friend was diagnosed by the doctor as chicken pox, he really suffered too, even got them in his eyes, he really was ill, so whether adults always get it as shingles or whether they still get chicken pox I´m really not sure.

But with a 3 week incubation its too late, you might have already caught it. Calomile and mittens on standby.

Chicken pox is the initial infection, whether or in childhood or adults. After having it the virus lies dormant in the nervous system but can be reactivated, in which case it comes back as shingles.Julie, hope your little ones have the usual mild illness and you can all enjoy Christmas.
