Soap

An odd topic perhaps, but I'm not talking about TV soaps, but soap.

What sort do you prefer or do you just use any old soap as long as you can have a wash with it?

Plus! What soaps from the past do you remember? Anybody remember Lyril? Not many I would imagine.

For myself, I like Imperial Leather, but I do like carbolic soap as well, mainly because it reminds me of when I was a child and that's what was used in school. I love the smell of it.

Re: Soap

I use Dead Sea Natural Mineral soap on my face as I find other everyday soaps tend to dry my skin out. It's £3 odd a tablet but well worth it for me. Another soap I like is Yardley Lavender.

Re: Soap

Well to be honest, all soaps dry out my face as well, but I compensate by using a moisturiser every day. Only a cheap one with Oil of Evening Primrose, but it does the trick in that I don't have many lines or wrinkles.

I also use another moisturiser as well, which is excellent.

I still use a moisturer after using the soap

Re: Soap

Yes, so do I. You know, you may find this hard to believe, but a couple of years ago Aldi brought out a moisturiser in a little pot at around £1.99 a throw. It was advertised far and wide.

Which! magazine made a point of checking it out and it came top, and there were queues at Aldi to buy this wonderful product. It came out better than Helena Rubenstein, Estee Lauder and all of the other top designer names.

I decided to try it out for myself and I have to admit, it really is brilliant but, I don't kid myself that it can halt the ageing process, but it can be slowed down.

Re: Soap

Was that the 'Lacura' range Mollie? I have a range of their products. The collagen cream, eye make-up remover, lip gloss etc., all very good.

As for soaps, I can't use any on my face (very sensitive skin), so I cleanse/tone/moisturise. I like to use the L'Occitane range of soaps - have a pump-action one in the kitchen, and the tablets for bathing/showering. They are expensive but find they last a long time.

Re: Soap

I use Pears and himself uses Imperial Leather (which reminds me of my Grandfather)! Sometimes I get a bar of Wrights coal tar cos I love the smell but it isnt a very ladylike aroma. Most other soaps make me itch n scratch in all the wrong places lol

Re: Soap

I use Radox liquid handwash which has moisturiser in it. I also use their shower cream which is a similar make up. Leaves my skin feeling really soft.
